Admiral UK Insurance (EUI Limited) – Chief Financial Officer

The Role

Reporting initially to the Group CFO and transitioning to the UK CEO, you will be responsible for leading the UK Insurance finance team of around 40 and will be a member of the senior management team.  You will enjoy significant exposure to the most senior management in the Group and will attend and contribute to various high-level boards and committees.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, motivating and coaching the EUI finance team
  • Overseeing the production of excellent management information to support management
  • Monitoring financial and operating performance, including expense management
  • Ensuring the operation of robust controls and processes
  • Overseeing the maintenance of high-quality accounting records
  • Overseeing the production of the UK Insurance budget and regular reforecasts
  • Leading the planning and analysis team which support management (for example in developing business cases for change projects and overseeing benefit tracking)
  • Overseeing the procurement and accounts payable functions
  • Overseeing the finance function of Admiral Group’s law firm
  • Managing relationships with major banks
  • Working closely with the tax function

You will be a member or attendee of a number of high-profile committees and boards, including:

  • EUI Senior Management Team
  • EUI Risk Committee
  • EUI Board

The role is likely to be an approved person under FCA senior manager regime.

Candidate profile:

  • Very strong academic background, highly numerate
  • Relevant finance qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA) and at least 10 years of experience post qualification
  • Experience of leading a finance function
  • Strong background in financial control
  • Strong background in business planning, expense control, management information, budgeting  
  • Strong people manager
  • Experience of playing a significant role in a senior management team
  • Clear communicator, strong experience of presenting to boards, committees etc.
  • Financial services experience would be an advantage.  Insurance experience is ideal but not essential.
